In Lee’s teaching, organic salvation is the **inner life-process** by which the Triune God constitutes believers so that the church can be built up as the organic Body of Christ; church building is the corporate issue of that same life-process.[1][2][3][4]
### 1. Organic salvation issues in building
– Organic salvation (regeneration → sanctification → transformation → conformation → glorification) is described as a metabolic process in which God’s life is added and the old element discharged.[5][6][1]
– Lee explicitly says that this transformation “issues in God’s building, the corporate expression of God in the church,” culminating in the New Jerusalem.[7][1]
### 2. Building as growth of life
– He defines the **building up of the church** as the growth of the church in the divine life, using the analogy that a person’s bodily “building up” is simply his growth from infancy to maturity.[2]
– Thus “if we mean business to have the church built up, we must take care of our growth in the divine life,” which comes by “eating and drinking Christ”; what we eat becomes our constitution, so the church’s building is the corporate result of this constitution.[2]
### 3. From individual salvation to corporate structure
– Organic salvation saves believers not only from sins but also from **individualism and independence**, making them “buildable” and able to be “joined and knitted together in the divine life” as one Body.[4][8][2]
– The more believers are organically transformed and knit together, the more the Body “causes the growth of itself… resulting in it being built up in love,” and this building up consummates in the New Jerusalem.[8][9][2]
### 4. Intrinsic and practical building
– Lee distinguishes the **intrinsic** building (the Triune God wrought into the believers as life and nature) from the practical building (saints functioning as joints and parts, begetting, nourishing, perfecting, and prophesying in the church life).[10][4][2]
– All “steps of the way to practice the Lord’s present recovery” (gospel, shepherding, perfecting, prophesying) are framed as **organic** outworkings of God’s salvation unto the building up of the Body.[11][1][4]
So, for Lee, organic salvation and church building are not two separate themes: the very **process** by which God saves you in life is the same process by which He builds the church; the more that organic salvation advances, the more the church as Christ’s Body is built up and brought to its corporate consummation.[9][1][4][8][2]
