Paul H B Chang
Hi everyone,
I’m rarely on any socials, but I thought this was probably worth posting formally. I’ve been working on this book pretty earnestly for probably more than fifteen years. It’s gone through quite a few revisions and is substantially different than my dissertation. My dear wife Laura teases me a lot about being slow, but I have been planning to be an author since second grade, so maybe it’s all a matter of perspective?
The book covers the life of Watchman Nee, who is the most important Chinese theologian in history, and is also one of the most influential Chinese thinkers in general, especially outside the Sinosphere. A number of good biographies of Nee already exist, but mine is the only comprehensive intellectual biography, focusing not so much on Nee’s day to day life, as on the source of his ideas–both the international evangelical tradition and his contemporary Chinese context.
My deep gratitude and thanks to all the family and friends who have supported me since second grade (and beyond!) You all know that this would not be possible without your love, concern, and help.
